One of the best problems in the world right now is just how many awesome children’s books there are on the shelves of bookstores and libraries.

The trouble of course is how do you find the authors that are right for you?

For me, although I love finding new authors and new great books, I often find myself returning to the same amazingly consistent authors.

Favorite authors are a bit like friends. They write those books that you will read again and again. They are the books the make you laugh the loudest or hug you close when you’re sad. And then, when you have favorites, there will come the day when that author has a new book and you will squeal with delight that there is more!

Below is a fantastic list of children’s book authors. They are the ones I know are guaranteed to delight us book after book. My hope is this will be a good starting point for you to find the authors that speak most to you and your kids.
